Just started Specials...

I just started reading Specials--finally!! I don' t really like Tally right now. For those of you who read it...Did you feel frustrated with Tally and Shay to begin with? Does it get better (I know I asked, but I don't want to know, really I just want to finish it and hope it gets better!)?

Just finished Goodnight, Nobody
Currently listening to Inkheart

Happy reading!!

OMG!!! You just started Specials???;) Just kidding:) Yeah Tally takes a while to come around. The ending for me was not predictable and pretty satisfying. One frustrating thing though was the Zane/David dilemma, but it proved to make the story entertaining, I guess, albeit very frustrating at times. I’ll stop here with my comments until you’re done because I don’t want to spoil your read, but I do have some comments I’d like to make! Have fun reading!

**Potential Spoiler**

I just finished. Specials last night! I was very satisfied with the ending and Tally. I feel like even though the trilogy is finished Westerfeld left Specials with the possibility of continueing it beyond three planned books.

I really liked the way the Zane/David dilemma worked out. I mean I didn't like that Zane died, but I did like how it ended with Tally and David together, but not romantically (at least not yet).

I look forward to comments from others who have finished this book.

**Definitely Spoiler**

I finished Specials this past week.

I was very frustrated with the Tally/Shay and David/Zane dilemas....

I didn't really like the fact that Tally and Shay were not only Specials, but Cutters. It's kind of sad that in order to feel anything or understand things, they had to cut themselves. And also, when you really think about it, Shay and Tally were a lot like robots, with the ceramic bones and special muscles and the brainwashing/belief that they were superior. I totally did not like any of the Special people. If I ever met any of them, I'd run away screaming and then I'd feel sorry for them.

As for the David/Zane dilema... I'm a sucker for first loves... I rooted for David the entire series! I thought Zane was okay, but I wasn't too enthusiastic about Tally's feelings for him. She claimed that she loved him and things like that, yet becuz she was "special" she couldn't stand to look at him while he was inferior to him. How sad! It was really sad how Zane ended up dying and I was sympathetic for Tally, but in the end, I was glad she was with David.

And I agree, it seems like there could be another book. I wish there is!! We have to figure out how they fix the cities and what they do about the operations and how they repopulate the wild/make people normal again, but if they can keep the world from returning to how it was in "Rustie" years. How interesting....
